DORSAL ROOT GANGLION (DRG) THERAPY

About DRG Therapy

Spinal Implant Dorsal Root Ganglion Neurostimulation
DRG Therapy (Dorsal Root Ganglion Therapy) utilizes an implant to stimulate the DRG (dorsal root ganglion) on the patient’s command. The DRG is a key epidural, intraspinal nerve structure that houses primary sensory neurons (PSNs) cell bodies and has a unique pathophysiological response to pain. By stimulating the DRG, we can achieve therapeutic coverage and pain relief in difficult-to-treat focal chronic intractable pain conditions. Interventional therapies like neurostimulation on the DRG provides a greater opportunity to isolate the patient’s primary source of pain, precisely communicating with the DRG to stimulate on command and provide immediate pain relief.

With DRG Therapy (Dorsal Root Ganglion Therapy), we can effectively treat patients with focal chronic intractable pain, due to complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Research into DRG Therapy has demonstrated that the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of chronic pain.

DRG neurostimulation systems are highly sought after to effectively treat lower limb chronic pain associated with CRPS. Primary relief can be given when damage to the nerve has occurred in the right or left groin, buttocks, leg, or foot. Nerve damage caused by injury, trauma or post-surgical nerve cutting or lesioning can effectively be treated with DRG Therapy, a safe, stable and consistent pain management program.

If you are being underserved by conventional tonic SCS and are suffering from chronic intractable pain conditions, DRG Therapy could be the answer. Spine and Wellness Centers of America will evaluate your chronic pain and find the best pain relief treatment for your condition. We have pain relief clinics throughout South Florida – Kendall, South Beach, Aventura, Miami, Hallandale Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Tamarac, Boca Raton East & West, Atlantis/Palm Beach, Jupiter/Gardens, Delray Beach.
